You know what’s scary?

Not dinosaurs. Not even a world full of dinosaurs.

What’s scary is a genetically modified dinosaur in your bedroom, menacing — for some reason — children.

That appears to be the implication in the final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in which the dinosaur scourge has been freed from its island kingdom and is now threatening our women and children.

That’s right. The Jurassic menace is coming from inside the house.

The last trailer for the latest Jurassic Park sequel suggests a world where bad guys have decided to weaponise dinosaurs.

But instead of giving the dinosaurs handguns or lasers, these baddies opt to crossbreed dinos into (even more) ravenous killing machines. (Primed to break into the rooms of small children, I guess?)

Luckily, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return to save the day with the help of trusty sidekick Blue, a velociraptor. Because of course.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also features the return of Jeff Goldblum to the franchise as Dr. Ian Malcolm, an inclusion that may make the entire endeavour worth the price of admission.

The trailer features several scenes with dinosaurs inside homes and bedrooms, suggesting that dinosaur lodgings are much more aesthetically advanced than previously thought. Or perhaps it’s just a callback to Jurassic Park: The Lost World’s dinosaur-in-the-backyard scene.

For what it’s worth, no fictional dogs are eaten in this trailer.

No matter how silly things may seem in the trailer, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to release on June 22.
