Actress Heather Locklear has reportedly been hospitalised for psychiatric evaluation after emergency personnel were called to the Melrose Place alum’s home on Sunday.

At about 3.50pm, authorities were called to the 4900 block of Summit View Drive in Thousand Oaks, according to Capt. Garo Kuredjian of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

“When they responded, they discovered a patient who needed medical help. That person was evaluated there and was later transported to a local hospital for further treatment,” Kuredjian said on Monday.

He could not confirm that Locklear was the patient but said it was widely reported to have been her.

Locklear’s publicist, Cece Yorke, had no information when reached, saying only that the actress is currently on hiatus. Locklear’s legal rep did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

According to TMZ, which first reported the story, the Dynasty veteran was taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after a family member claimed she was threatening to kill herself.

A dispatcher on the 911 call obtained by the website said the woman was trying to hurt herself and was looking for a gun to shoot herself but didn’t have access to a weapon. The dispatcher also said the woman was “agitated and violent.”

Locklear, 56, was arrested in February on suspicion of domestic battery and assault of a peace officer after deputies responded to a domestic incident involving the actress’ boyfriend.

In 2008, she was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. The DUI charge was later dismissed as part of a plea deal.
