The recently opened Radisson Blue, is located in Dubai’s most central neighbourhood, Business Bay. With views from the hotel of Burj Khalifa, this Dubai waterfront hotel is also home to the city’s newest nightlife destination, Gotha nightclub.

The brightly-lit lobby and sleek design give the hotel a very glamorous feel. Ceiling to floor windows and light beige and grey colour palletes cause the room to be flooded with natural light during the day.

Because of its central location in the heart of Downtown Dubai, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront is walking distance from well-known attractions like Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, the Dubai Fountain and Downtown Boulevard, while DIFC is just a short drive away. Great for when tourists want to stay in the city centre and have access to many attractions.

The room

The hotel has 432 rooms and suites, all with a super modern design and gorgeous high-end finishes. Most of the rooms have private balconies to enjoy the views. You have the option of choosing from standard rooms, business classrooms, spacious suites and family rooms, which come with added amenities for the whole family, with kids’ games and access to the kids’ club. The beds are incredibly comfortable, that almost every guest I spoke to, told me that they couldn’t get out of the bed because of its comfort level.

What to do

The hotel has got a great rooftop pool, which has uninterrupted sun from 12pm until sunset. Their Dreamworks Spa should be completed in a couple of months and will offer a wide range of treatments using techniques from around the world. Their treatment rooms will have views of the Dubai Water Canal. In addition to the spa services, the hotel has a fully-equipped gym and outdoor pool.

And finally the French Riviera’s crown jewel, Gotha. Infused with art and marked with world-class entertainment, Gotha offers a unique and animated clubbing experience. Complete with a 15-metre long bar and 47 VIP tables, the club has a sleek and luxurious look, with suspended panther heads, gold leather couches and a green room especially for the weekly international artists.

Where to eat

The hotel is home to five eateries, including some with gorgeous outdoor spaces and cosy indoor spots.

Fire Lake Grill House & Cocktail bar serves up tender, mouth — watering meat, delicious seafood and vegetarian dishes, as well as decadent beverages. The restaurant also features a spectacular outdoor terrace looking directly onto the Burj Khalifa, making it the perfect place to capture that ultimate picture-perfect moment. They are planning to launch a brunch there any week now.

Larder is a Nordic-inspired restaurant that serves up well-constructed dishes using fresh and local produce, served al fresco with stunning views of the Dubai Water Canal.

Republic & Co is a 24-hour cafe serving dishes inspired by the Middle East and guests can enjoy Lebanese mezze and sharing dishes.

Their lobby coffee shop Abraj is the perfect place to pick up a sandwich and a great cup of coffee.

One of the hotel’s standout offerings is Makar, a Scottish bar, set in an intimate and cosy ‘snug’.

What we recommend

If you are looking for an affordable 5 star stay with amazingly friendly staff and great quality food, the Radisson Blu, Dubai Waterfront is a great option. It’s central and sort of a business hotel that doesn’t feel like a business hotel. Despite the bustling area that the hotel is located in, one look out of that window onto the view and the peaceful waters of the canal will make you feel all kinds of calm.
