When an actor makes a comeback, he makes sure that every element of the movie falls in place.

Akshay Kumar failed to understand that over-the-top action, non-existent story line, lame jokes and Himesh Reshammiya are not the ingredients for an appetizing movie.

The music is nice and catchy but the movie makes me wonder whether Reshammiya is a bad singer or a bad actor.

Kumar makes a comeback as an action hero but looks more like a superhero who fights with bad guys and travels at the speed of light.

He has a multi-cultural family wherein the grandmother is from Africa, aunt is from China and mother is from Canada. The family looks more like the United Nations. And not to forget he has a twin brother too, who got lost in a mela (village fair)!

Reshammiya plays an unsuccessful matchmaker, who finally gets Kumar and Asin together -- but Asin is in love with a goon who is in jail.

In the end, the hero wins over the heroine who is kidnapped by her angry former boyfriend. The hero, in his attempt to rescue the heroine, single-handedly fights the villain and his henchmen. And as such movies end, the hero and his love interest live happily ever after.

Sorry, the movie doesn’t end here. Kumar’s twin brother, who is a police officer, enters with his afro look and Punjabi accent, which is like having cornflakes with pickles.

‘The good - the bad - the ugly’ of Khiladi 786:

Good : The End

Bad : Duration, dialogues and direction.

Ugly : Himesh Reshammiya as an actor, Akshay Kumar’s action comeback and losing Dh35.

The verdict: If you plan to watch Khiladi 786, go with a lot of friends so that you can laugh at the movie. Or better still, as the movie poster says, “Keep Distance”.
