The Mothership

Episode: Revisiting the Marvel movies before ‘Infinity War’

It’s been an entire decade of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies, all of them leading up to Avengers: infinity War. It’s a lot to remember and keep track of, especially if you want to enjoy the latest movie, which most probably references almost all of the 18 movies that have come before. The Mothership hosts Brett Molina, Kelly Lawler and Brian Truitt break down the good, the bad and the ugly of the MCU run so far, and give a quick recap of the major MCU events, along with a breakdown of the six Infinity Stones and their current location. So, if you’re in need of a refresher, this is the episode to look up.

Stagecraft

Episode 28

Hosted by Variety’s Broadway Editor, Gordon Cox, Stagecraft mainly features in-depth interviews with almost everyone related to the world of theatre. But in a tryst of luck, this week’s interview features Chris Evans, the Avengers’ former leader Captain America, who has been on the run since the events of Captain America: Civil War. In the 25-minute-long discussion, the actor, apart from talking about his current Broadway run in Lobby Hero and his theatre-kid roots, he dives into the question of his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, post Infinity War. If you’re a fan of the Cap, this one’s a good, quick listen.

Episode: All 22 of them

For those of you who are more interested in a detailed analysis, a new podcast popped up on December 31, 2017, titled Countdown to Infinity. Having released 22 episodes so far, with each episode running on an average of 90 minutes, the show breaks down each MCU movie, phase by phase, character by character, villain by villain. It’s almost an encyclopedic attempt and die-hard fans will definitely enjoy the total geek-out sessions. But for those pressed for time, give this one a skip.

Big Shiny Robot

Episode: Avengers Infinity War: Primer

For those of you who are more inclined to the comic books rather than the movies, the folks at Big Shiny Robot discuss the comic book origins of the various characters that make up the MCU, along with giving a very helpful synopsis of the Infinity Gauntlet comic book arc, that informs the movie in a few ways. They also happily dip into the various fan theories, including the ones related to the Infinity Stones and their location. If I had to pick one episode to give me a well-informed primer on the Infinity War storyline and all the events leading up to this event, I’d pick this episode from the Big Shiny Robot.
