A short film festival to showcase the works of students and amateur projects will be held at Dubai Knowledge Park from April 20 to 23.
Called White Oryx International Short Film Festival (WOIS Film Fest), the event will also feature workshops and competitions alongside the screening of 70 films.
Workshops will cover everything from introduction to filmmaking to storytelling, colour grading, creative writing and food photography.
A total of 33 films have been shortlisted to be screened, and will compete for the Golden Oryx Awards in three categories: Best Short Film from the UAE, Best Short Film from a UAE University and Best Short Film from a UAE school. The closing award ceremony will be held at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education campus on April 23.
