Abu Dhabi: The capital is officially geared up for Grand Prix party season with a series of concerts featuring artists including American singer Ciara, Filipino stars Gary Valenciano and Vina Morales and Arab Idol winner and runner up, Mohammed Assaf The musicians will be performing at free public concerts at Abu Dhabi Corniche as part of the three-day Beats on the Beach event, which kicks off on 31 October with a Filipino concert featuring Valenciano and Vina Morales.

Dubai-based vocalists Bull Funk Zoo and UAE-based rock band Beat Antenna support Salma Rachid, Assaf and Ciara on November 1.

Emirati singer Shamma Hamdan and Lebanese singer Assi Al Hellani and Salma Rachid perform with UAE-based Lebanese musician Jay Wud and indie rock bank Chronicles of Khan on November 2. Flash Entertainment’s vice president marketing and communications, Mike Fairburn, described this year as “a historic year with a bigger and broader programme”, adding that the events are meant to create a unique experience for the audience.

Beach on the Beats is part of the Yasalam entertainment program, which will also bring other events such as ‘Get Driver Fit’, a series of free training sessions to teach new skills such as golf, sailing, windsurfing, jiu-jitsu, and kayak, among others.

With up to 10,000 people expected to take part in the eight-week programme, participants are urged to register starting today for each offer at yasalam.duplays.com/getdriverfit

The programme aims to leave a legacy of health through the motor-sport-themed concept and with classes for both men and women of all ages.

Yasalam is also set to shed light on and celebrate the Emirati spirit with a 10km car parade on 25 October. Residents can simply decorate their cars and join the parade.

Those who are still pumped up on adrenaline from the Corniche concerts can keep their party hats on and head to the Formula 1 after-race concerts, which feature artists Jay Z, Muse, Depeche Mode, Amr Diab, Elissa, and Hussain Al Jasmi and are open to those who purchase race tickets only.

Up to 2,000 lucky ticket holders will win complimentary golden race tickets.
