Dubai: Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo is targeting the selfie experts with the world’s first 25MP front camera on its F7 device.

The F7, which was launched in Dubai on Monday, is the latest addition to selfie expert series from the world’s fourth-largest vendor after Oppo F3 and F5.

The 6.23-inch FullHD+ display (1080 x 2280 pixels) with a display aspect ratio of 19:9 is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of ROM.

The F7, similar to iPhone X with a smaller notch, is packed with face unlock and gesture controls.

The device with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM is priced at Dh1,249 while the one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM (exclusive with Etisalat) is priced at Dh1,599. It comes in red, silver and black colours and will be available from Friday. The F7 has a 16MP rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture.

Mohammad Naoufel Madih, marketing manager at Oppo Gulf, said that the ‘AI Beauty 2.0’ technology lets the camera capture selfies in challenging lighting conditions. The phone can identify more than 290 facial recognition spots while clicking selfies and has a customised beauty effect. The device learns more of you as you use it.
