Dubai: The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) launched a new service on its website allowing taxable persons to link their accounts to an accredited tax agency, which can carry out various tasks on their behalf.

The FTA said on Sunday that by linking an account online to an agency, the tax agency will be carry out registration procedures for taxable persons, submit tax returns, and complete tax transactions. Users will have access to real-time updates.

The new service was introduced to encourage compliance with tax procedures, the authority said.

The service allows taxable persons to nominate one or more persons as their tax agents, who would then represent them in all their transactions with the authority. A taxable person can link their account on the FTA’s website with that of an accredited tax agency.

The FTA has already approved 87 tax agents who met the technical requirements and passed the authority’s exams.

For a tax agent to be authorised to carry out such tasks, they must be affiliated with a tax agency, such as an accounting firm, or a tax or a legal consultancy that is accredited by the FTA.

“The Federal Tax Authority is committed to continuously developing its services to ensure flexibility and enable businesses to seamlessly implement the tax system and avoid any disruptions to their activities,” said Khalid Al Bustani, director-general of the FTA.
