Dubai: Emirates Flight Catering will build the world’s largest vertical farm in Dubai South’s Aviation District, with an investment of Dh146.8 million.
The facility will cover 130,000 square feet and construction is scheduled to start in November 2018.
Construction will take around one year to complete, with the first products from the farm expected to be delivered to Emirates customers in December 2019.
The announcement comes after Emirates Catering and Dubai South signed a memorandum of collaboration, under which the former will expand operations in the Aviation District.
