I have thyroid nodules. which foods can help?
Thyroid nodules are solid or fluid lumps seen in your thyroid gland. Majority of the nodules are not dangerous unless a test proves otherwise. Some of the contributory causes of nodules are iodine deficiency and inflammation of the thyroid gland.
The most common dietary sources of iodine are seaweed, fish, dairy products and eggs. It’s also suggested that people with thyroid problems avoid any known allergic food, processed food and sauces rich in preservatives as preventive care.
From a traditional medicine perspective, irregular diet and sleep patterns need to be addressed. Animal protein, sharp spices and salt are either moderated or avoided.
My haemoglobin level has gone down to 10. What sort of food can bring them to normal levels?
Low haemoglobin can occur due to various reasons. When your body produces fewer red blood cells than usual or when your body destroys red blood cells faster than they replenish, you end up with low haemoglobin. Blood loss from the body also creates a similar situation.
Foods that can help raise haemoglobin levels include fruits that are slightly sour, red meat, meats, rich greens, beans, lentils, iron-fortified cereals, dark green leafy vegetables, fruits and fruit juices and dried fruits. Ayurveda recommends pomegranate, lemon and grapes in various forms.
