Latifa Hospital for Women and Children has inaugurated its VIP Al Bustan suites after it had extensive renovations to provide a luxurious stay for expecting mothers before and after delivery.

Al Bustan — which includes 15 individual suites — provides the same level of quality medical services for mothers-to-be, however it is an option for mothers seeking a more luxurious stay while delivering their babies as the suites provide a hotel-like ambiance in terms of furnishing and food presentation.

Following the inauguration, His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of the DHA stressed that the authority is keen to provide quality medical services to all its customers according to the highest international standards that exceed their expectations and achieve satisfaction and happiness.

He added that the additional service packages aim at activating medical tourism in Dubai by providing a wide range of optional additional services for clients seeking a different atmosphere during their hospital treatment.

He also said the authority is in the process of modernising and upgrading its services and providing integrated medical care, which aims to provide customers with quality services.

Earlier this year Latifa Hospital for Women and Children announced that it will begin the expansion of its emergency department this year to double its capacity from 30,000 to 60,000 patients annually.

Latifa Hospital for Women and Children is the oldest and largest dedicated maternity and paediatric hospital in the Emirate. The new expansion will have a green and children-friendly theme to create a positive patient-centric and family-centric environment in line with international modern practices.

The expansion will include two sides, one designated for women and the other for children. The look of the department will be changed completely starting from the reception, MRI and O&G consultation rooms to enhance accessibility, safety and delivery of service.

The hospital’s delivery suite will also be undergoing an expansion not only to increase its capacity but also improve patient flow procedures, minimise patient transfers from one location to another and enhance overall care.

It will include two more operation theatre (OT) rooms that are being added, making the number of OTs to six.

Presently, approximately 5,000 to 6,000 deliveries take place per year at the hospital; post the expansion the hospital will be able to handle close to 10,000 deliveries per year.
