Watch! Florida man crashes truck through airport terminal wall at full speed

Juan Monsivis wasn’t returning his truck to the car rental company’s kiosk, nor did he have a flight to catch from the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport in Florida. But he sure was in a hurry to get inside the inside the airport and to the rental car counter!

In this incredible video footage from the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, you can see Monsivis hurtling his 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck through the airport premises before crashing through the terminal building’s wall and hitting a rental car counter.

According to a report by USA Today, Fredrick Piccolo, president and chief executive officer of the airport, confirmed the incident occurred just before 3 a.m., with the driver crashing through a chain-link fence on the airport’s western boundary and racing down a utility road before slamming full-speed into the wall of the terminal.

There were no travellers in that area of the airport, so no one except Monsivis was injured in the accident, although the damage caused is estimated at over $250,000 (Dh917,500). The footage shows how the two personnel manning the car rental counter escape unharmed thanks to the surprisingly strong kiosk panel, which stops the truck.

Monsivis, who sustained serious injuries in the crash, is being treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. But he is sure to have a harder time once he’s out of the hospital and is asked to explain the incident to the cops and the insurance agents!
