The recent #MeToo movement has brought forth a plethora of change which is not only pleasing to watch, it has also left me anticipating what’s going to happen next. I am so proud of all those wonderful, brave women who have brought their stories to light. I feel that it is truly amazing that people are finally listening to these stories. Reading about the disgusting sexual harassment cases by individuals such as Harvey Weinstein and Larry Nassar shocked me. It is worse that they have gotten away with their crimes for so long. I am so glad that they are finally being punished. On one hand there are such terrible people, and on the other, there are people like Bradley Cooper who’d take a pay cut to ensure equal pay for his female co-star, and Mark Wahlberg who is donating $1.5 million that he received to re-shoot scenes in All the Money in the World, to replace scenes featuring Kevin Spacey (who has been accused of sexual assault), and there is the anti-harassment group Time’s Up. Such people who do positive things, give me hope that maybe humanity is not all lost, and that good people do exist out there in the world. There has never been a better time for women to speak out. I hope to see lot more changes, so that we women, can finally live in the kind of world that we want to, where we can be safe and happy.
