Syrian regime ally Russia carried out its heaviest strikes in days on Syria’s Aleppo on Tuesday, as at least five children were killed in rebel fire on a school in the war-torn country’s south.

#Syria - From pictures of dead bodies of children pulled out of rubble and videos of injured children, social media is flooded with posts emphasising the need to solve the problem in Syria.

@MSF: Reaching hospitals in besieged east #Aleppo has become a danger in itself

Alan McElwee: “How long do we wait for decisive action to stop this war?”
Seán Mac Gabhainn: “This is the future of all our cities if we don’t put a stop to this.”

Mafabi Twaha Nangoli: “Looking at pictures from Aleppo dampens my heart however much I try to pretend.”

Adhan Zed: “She wanted to fetch water for her family with filled the bottles and was unable to carry it, so she stopped and stared crying. #Aleppo”

Ahsan Shahid: “It is hard to accept that we get to sleep at night peacefully while they cry all day and night. If only I could help.”

Elie Arenos: “Going to coordinate the arrival of the Children from #Syria #Aleppo and transfer them to Rhodes Island before their dispatch to family in EU countries. This operation is a join venture between the #orderofmalta and #savethechildren.”

Bridgee Melling: “As a mother this is simply unbearable to watch but as a human being I’m fuming at the mouth at the thought that the likes of Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian dominate the news cycles day after day when something like Aleppo is going on... #Syria #aleppo #savealeppo”

Simone Simmie: “Aya, 8, pulled from rubble after an air-strike hit her home in Syria. As rescue workers helped, she cried for her dad. The entire world is in turmoil. There is no longer any respect for the sanctity and value of life. #Healtheworld #Syria.#Aleppo”

Dave Pavlik: “Please focus on the picture of this terrified little girl. She is one of countless children suffering through extreme tragedy and despair in Syria.

I am awash with fear and heartache for her. And while I have seen numerous pictures of the devastation, this poor child has really hit home, she reminds me of my sweet, innocent, joyful Goddaughter and it has literally brought me to tears.

So while there are so many reasons to get involved, I ask that you do this for me, as a personal favour. Please take two minutes of your day today to support a cease fire in Aleppo through awareness. It will cost you zero dollars, a little good will and less than a commercial break worth of your time to save this girl and the untold number just like her that may not be alive tomorrow if we do not collectively act. So please share this, along with typing the tag #StandWithAleppo and tagging any young father or mother, anyone of influence or anyone you believe would also share. Through awareness, we can shape the public debate and shame our public leaders who stand idly by while these children die in terror.”

Juliet Patterson: “You may have seen photos, videos of this man in Syria, Mohammad. He has stayed in Aleppo to care for cats and dogs, left behind. He also drives an ambulance to help people who are injured. He plans to open an animal shelter. He currently has 170 cats, and some dogs, who he cares for daily.”
