Terrorism is big threat to peace in the world. It breeds when extremism gets sponsorship. A similar kind of situation commonly prevailed in Pakistan before Zarb-e-Azb and Rud-ul-Fasad national action plans against terrorists. It was the height of terrorism on October 18, 2007, when during PPP (Pakistan People’s Party) chairperson Benazir Bhutto homecoming rally, the caravan was bombed and it resulted in a high number of causalities. Approximately 160 died and more than 500 were injured. It was heinous crime. Later, on 27 December, 2007 she was assasinated at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi by terrorists. Today 10 years have passed after the October 18 incident but political leadership particularly PPP leadership remains under threat by terrorists. Why do these terrorist attacks on PPP rallies/demonstrations alone? It was an attack on democracy and on unity and integrity of Pakistan.

That time Bhutto declared the suicide bombing to be an attack on democracy and political process. She not only wanted to continue war against terrorism but also intensify it.

However, she was killed by those who wanted to perpetuate national slavery and keep the people backward.
Benazir Bhutto was a mother, a wife, a leader, a daughter, a sister who sacrificed her life for the cause of democracy so that her children and children of the country and future generations and all can breathe in the fresh air of democratic life.
