Oct. 31 will mark the second Halloween of the 2016 election cycle, and Americans are once again using jack-o-lanterns to show off their political opinions. Last Halloween, a Donald Trump pumpkin, or Trumpkin, was a funny trend on social media. But with the elections really close this time many feel that #Trumpkin is terrifying.

#Trumpkin - Trumpkin is used by both Trump supporters and opponents. Fans of Trump show their pride by decorating his face on their front porch, and Trump haters plan to smash their Trumpkins or watch them rot.

Cassie Stricklan: “I had a wonderful birthday but the real star of the day is the Trumpkin Gordie and I made. #Trumpkin #25thbirthday”

Alexis DeLeon: “The only thing making the elections bearable... actually it’s just really funny. #TRUMPkin”

The Chirurgeon’s Apprentice: “When your boyfriend is a cartoonist, Halloween can be extra scary. #Trumpkin”

Adam D. Hershkowitz: “Wish i made this fine #trumpkin but kudos to whomever did.”

James D. LaCroix: “Today, I had the chance to carve the scariest pumpkin with my awesome co-workers.”

Yuliya Andrea Shevchenko-Inopina: “I’m getting tired of this us elections nonsense and listening to the orange pumpkin aka #trumpkin?!? Really. Thanks God the nightmare is over shortly after Halloween!”

Jason Roberts: “What do Donald Trump and a pumpkin have in common?

They’re orange on the outside, hollow on the inside, and should be tossed out in early November. #trumpkin”

Dana Merrill: “My 10 year old little girl made this for a Halloween art project, she says, ‘I am calling this my TRUMPkin, because it’s ugly and orange’. Made my day! #Trumpkin #NannyLife”

Nadiya Mitelman-Frey: “In the spirit of Halloween, decorating, and pumpkin carving, we bought the ugliest pumpkin we have ever seen! We named it #TRUMPKIN (mostly because it looked just like him, and it has been rotting from the inside). Stay tuned for the photo! Promise, you will not be disappointed!”

James Bradshaw: “OK here it what the Hillary Clinton pumpkin looks like.”

In the Philippines, people are also buying halloween masks that are designed with the face of country’s president Roderigo Duterte.
