Keep a check on it

Artificial intelligence (AI) is indeed today’s fastest developing technology, progressing at a great pace. However, we just need to simply remember that we are the ones who created it in the first place. That thought is more than enough to compel ourselves to keep a check on it. We humans will always reign supreme over our own technology. AI is employed just as yet another method to make our lives further comfortable. Only greatly skilled technicians need to work on this, to ensure maximum prevention of mistakes. For AI to take over our tasks, we need to enable them to do so. As long as we keep a check on the activities they are employed in, it is nearly impossible for them to take over.

Free from discrimination

Well at least Al won’t be able to racially discriminate among themselves while working compared to the way humans today discriminate each other based on race, gender, culture, religion and nationality. Perhaps people should go back to digging and hunting as a source of food and income and leave these white collar jobs to AI.

Ensure control

I think Elon Musk is right in saying that we will face a ‘Terminator’situation if we don’t keep a control on the wide scale implementation of AI. While Mark Zuckerberg makes a valid point noting the usefulness of AI, especially in emergency situations, it is up to us humans to regulate them. Robots, if made intelligent beyond measure, can get smart enough to know that they are capable of independence, join forces with other robots in their community and turn their backs on us. I believe AI is capable of doing the tasks we designate them. But, we need to ensure that they remain in our control.

Stop the production

It’s like saying the manufacturers of vehicles caused unemployment, who drives the vehicles then? I don’t think there will be any loss of job. We need to remember that the robot is manufactured, operated, fixed and programmed by humans. Can one person do all that? Let’s say it works somewhere in a dirty environment, will it wash itself? Of course not. Robots are good because they ease the amount of work we do. I suggest that if the manufacturers think robots will create unemployment, then production should be stopped, because if these robots come in operation many people will lose their jobs, government revenues will decrease and so many other economic related setbacks will occur, causing the economy to drop.

Usage of power

AI can do more things than humans. But on the other hand, AI cannot do all the things that humans can. What is important here is usage of discretionary power at the right context, which is the monopoly of human beings and will be so in the future, too.

It isn’t necessary

I have my doubts about the sixth sense in AI. Humans are unique in their own way. The way they do certain tasks, it isn’t something that AI can take over. In case it does happen, the world will not be a better place for humans to live in. Even now most of the technology is being misused. Without all these technological developments, our ancestors survived and lived healthy and wealthy, even more than some of us.

Possible to take over

As far as technology is concerned, AI will possibly take over some parts of what humans do on this planet. But, not all jobs can be done perfectly by AI. There will still be a void and we would still need manpower to complete the job in certain industries. There are some areas where it would become necessary to use AI. But, this will have a negative effect on humans, such as laziness, unemployment, poverty and even global warming.

Long time from now

I don’t think AI can take over our jobs. It will take 15 to 20 years from now for AI to just live up to our expectations. It is just the start for AI and we cannot expect it to take over our lives and jobs any time soon.

Good assistant

Yes, AI has the potential to take over our lives and our jobs. Best solution is to use AI as an assistant to each member of the job market, to make our lives and jobs easier. But, non-human force replacement or alternative regulations should be in place to protect us all!

From Mr Raffi Aman Muhammad

Easily infected

It’s possible for AI to take over our mundane jobs, but it’s just program and can easily be infected and work opposite to what it is programmed to do. I mean, instead of serving the food on your table, it may get angry and throw it on your face!
