I had applied for a student Nol card with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on February 12, 2017. As a university student who travels every day for several hours using public transportation, I feel having the student Nol card is almost a necessity. After paying Dh70 for the card, I received an SMS immediately, stating that I would receive my card within 10-15 days. It has been a month now and I have checked the status of my card often. It always shows “under processing”. I raised a complaint with RTA but they didn’t resolve my issue or even help me understand the reason for the immense delay. I do not know how to press the issue further as I am sure all my documents are in order.

I hope Gulf News will help bring this issue to light so that I can receive my card soon.

From Ms Mehzabeen Zulfikar Tinwala

The management of RTA responds:

Please be informed that this case was raised by the customer on March 27, 2017. The case was resolved and the card received, and she has already been using it since April.

Ms Tinwala responds:

I greatly appreciate Gulf News’ intervention as I believe that was a big reason why my issue was resolved promptly. I have received my card and have been using it.
