Double standards?
When an Indian or Pakistani national commits a crime, Gulf News always states his or her nationality along with the name and other details (“Sharjah man returns Dh100,000 lost at airport”, Gulf News, September 12). But, when he/she does a good deed, why does the newspaper just mention them as ‘Asians’?

In case of a police report or court story, the nationality is published based on information released by the authorities. Coverage in the newspaper is based on news value and not on nationality or any other form of bias.
