In Gulf News, on May 25, the newspaper printed the date as Sha’aban 27, when it should have been Sha’aban 28. Why is the newspaper publishing incorrect information?

From Ms Sophia Hameed

Thank you for your feedback. Gulf News did not publish the incorrect Islamic date. The newspaper follows the Islamic date provided by UAE’s Awqaf Department and Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department. According to them, the Islamic date on May 25 was Sha’aban 28, 1438. This is consistent with the date published by all the Arabic newspapers and most of the English newspapers.
