Dubai: If watching movies is a routine affair for you, then it’s time for some novelty. And no, we’re not talking about a different activity, just a movie experience with a difference.
Starting April 18, creative entertainment company Codacreate has launched what it calls the Surprise Cinema at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, which is essentially an outdoor movie experience with the film being a surprise.
The month-long screenings will take place until May 19, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, said Joe Lee, creative director of Codacreate. “You won’t have a clue what the film is until the show begins,” he said.
“The only thing you can be sure of is that they are all popular Hollywood hits. A range of action, comedy, adventure, drama and classics are being screened; it’s a great way to spend time with friends and family.”
The venue will be open from 5pm but the film starts at 7.30pm. The films are rated for ages 13+ but still require parental guidance. All film food favourites, including popcorn will be available at the venue. Among the stalls present are Garret Popcorn and Freedom Pizza.
Regular tickets are priced Dh50 while VIP tickets, which include blankets and food vouchers, start from Dh150. The event’s Facebook page also ran a promotion where two VIP tickets for the premiere were given away to the maximum number of shares of the event.
