Dubai: Following the story of Dinky, the cat that was miraculously reunited with his British owner 60 days after he went missing, a pet owner in Ajman is also hoping for a miracle to find her lost pet.

Indian Ramya Menon said tough financial conditions had forced her to give up her four-year-old cat, Amul, a male white Persian angora breed, for adoption to a Pakistani couple last October. “The couple seemed interested in taking care of Amul and kept us posted about the her well-being. They would send me Amul’s pictures regularly and I felt reassured he was doing fine,” said Ramya.

In April, however, things started to go wrong as the couple gave the cat away to another person.

“I stayed in touch with them to see if the cat was being looked after in his new home. All they said was that he was doing fine but they never sent me any pictures. I suspected something was amiss and managed to contact the new owner last week on Facebook. To my horror, he said Amul has gone missing. I am shattered. But Dinky’s story has given me hope,” she said. “I have filed a lost pet report with Dubai and Sharjah municipalities as well as the police. I hope I find Amul soon,” she said.
