What prompted you to hold the Electric Run in Sharjah?
We hosted Electric Runs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and the response was very encouraging. So we decided to take it to Sharjah too. For the uninitiated, Electric Run is the world’s brightest 5K night run, combining lights, music and exercise in one unique, fun experience. The run will be held at the city’s waterfront, transforming it into an electric wonderland.
What has the response been like considering it’s being held in Sharjah for the first time?
Simply overwhelming. Runners have signed up individually and with friends and family; we’re expecting thousands to show up on Friday.
What are the attractions along the route?
There will be non-stop entertainment throughout the 5K stretch including top chart hits, classic electronic tracks, and programmed light displays. The highlight will be the seven unique lands which will transport the runners to different worlds (Electric Avenue, Colour Brick Road, Rainbow Road, Neffmau5 Land, Electro Rainforest, Teddy Bear Lane and The Powerhouse).
Are there other entertainment activities?
Runners can expect an evening full of adrenaline pumping music and entertainment for every one. The night run will be followed by a post-race concert featuring local DJs at the Al Majaz Amphitheatre.
