Dubai: Emaar Square in Downtown will get its first convenience store when F Mart opens here early next week.
Located near Mamma Italia restaurant in Emaar Boulevard Plaza, the ‘gourmet supermarket’ will cater to residents and office-goers in the area.
“We desperately needed a supermarket in Emaar Square as there aren’t many in the vicinity,” said an Indian resident. The closest supermarkets are Zoom inside Sofitel Downtown which is about a kilometre away and Waitrose located inside Dubai Mall.

“Zoom does not have a home delivery option and it’s not feasible to walk to Dubai Mall every day,” said Tara Rogers who works in Emaar Square 3. “F-Mart is going to be very convenient for a lot of us,” she added.
Longtime Downtown Dubai resident Phil Grange said he hoped the place will have a coffee station similar to the one at their Jumeirah outlet.
A part of Families Group that runs a chain of supermarkets in different parts of the country, F Mart will offer a wide range of ready-to-eat meals, salads, fruits, frozen poultry and soups besides toiletries.
The store also has a special kiosk where residents can pay their utility bills.
