Dubai: Four Dubai based expats have co-authored a gardening journal called My Arabian Almanakh.

Put together by Laura Allais, Cherida Fernandez, Leilani Coughlan and Prachiti Talathi, the 180-page book will be launched at Roseleaf Café in Dubai Garden Centre on October 16. The book costs Dh150 and can be ordered from publishers Dreamwork Collective.

Handy guide

Author Laura Allais said My Arabian AlManakh will come as a handy guide for gardening enthusiasts in the UAE. “People often get ambitious trying to grow a variety of herbs and plants in the UAE without realising that their choice is fairly limited because of weather and soil conditions,” she said.

According to her, the book will not only help residents identify which plants are suitable for the region, it will also offer top tips on how to look after them without using harsh chemicals and pesticides.
