ABU DHABI: Close on the heels of Taste of Abu Dhabi, the capital is hosting yet another mega culinary event. The fifth edition of the 19-day Abu Dhabi Food Festival (ADFF) which kicked off on Monday promises a sumptuous celebration of food across Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and Al Gharbia over the three weekends.

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, the festival has three major components - Gourmet Abu Dhabi, Street Feast and the SIAL Trade Fair.

Gourmet Abu Dhabi

Gourmet Abu Dhabi will feature exceptional food experiences in various top venues from December 8 to 23 besides a golf themed programme called Gourmet Golf and a barbeque event showcasing a collection of supercars.

The highlight, however, would be the participation of Hollywood celebs John Cusack and Jesse Metcalfe. While Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe will show up at Catch restaurant at Nation Riviera Beach Club on December 9, Sixteen Candles actor John Cusack will have an intimate dinner with 12 foodies in the Emirates Palace Presidential Suite.

Some of cooking world’s most famous celebrity chefs. MasterChef Australia star Matt Preston, acclaimed Michelin Star chef, restaurateur and global TV personality, Graham Elliot and Adriano Zumbo, star of Zumbo’s Just Desserts will delight food fans with pop-up restaurant appearances, ‘Meet & Greets’ and cookbook signings during the festival. At Street Feast, visitors will enjoy culinary delights from over 60 food trucks.

The Street Feast will take place in Al Ain from December 8-10 at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, and on Abu Dhabi Corniche from December 15-17.
