Developer Nakheel is holding free health checks for Discovery Gardens residents until June 3.

Being held in conjuction with City Centre Clinic-Ibn Batuta, the checks include consultations with doctors and tests for blood pressure and sugar.

So far residents of 63 Discovery Gardens buildings have benefited from the health campaign which began in April this year.

Residents of buildings 204, 207 and 226 will be covered over the next three days.

Rebecca Rees, senior manager, Media Relations & Communications Commercial, Nakheel said the campaign is part of their commitment to promote the health and wellbeing of their residents.

Meanwhile, many residents have been signing up for the free medical check-up.

Filipina expat Afril Anna Garcia (34) said she had been putting off doing a routine medical health check as she could not make time from work. “I have been thinking of getting myself checked since some time but never found the time for it. So when I heard the tests were being conducted right below my building and that it was completely free, I signed up for it. I residents can benefit from time to time with such campaigns.”

Another Pakistani expat living in the building, Harooz Hazrat, suffers from Type 2 Diabetes. “I need to get myself checked as often as possible – but avoid it as it can be expensive. Such initiatives however, are a great boon to us,” he said.
