Dubai: A slew of super-luxury hospitality, retail and residential projects is set to change the face of Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest artificial island that was created 15 years ago.

XPRESS brings you eight developments to watch out for on the Palm in the days ahead.

Nakheel Mall

Located right in the heart of the Palm, this Dh2.5 billion, 4.5 million square foot mall will have five retail levels with 350 shops, restaurants and leisure attractions. There will be three underground parking levels offering 4,000 slots. Located next to The Palm Tower, the mall can be accessed via The Palm Monorail. It is expected to be completed is 2017.

Palm Tower

The 52-storey luxury residential and hotel complex is attached to the Nakheel Mall. St. Regis Hotel with 289 rooms will occupy the first 18 floors while 504 residential units will take up the upper floors. An infinity pool, restaurant and viewing deck are other key attractions. Anticipated completion is 2018 and apartment prices start at Dh1.7 million. Hotel guests will have free access to the nearby upcoming St Regis Beach Club and residents will get preferential membership deals.

Palm 360

The ultra-luxury twin-tower hotel and residential project on the western crescent is set to take lavish living to new heights. There are two boutique hotels with 110 rooms, 252 high-end one- and two-bedroom serviced apartments and 12 ultra-lavish 12,000 square-foot duplex penthouses. A rooftop infinity ‘sky pool’ and speciality restaurant complex connect the twin towers on the 30th floor which will be completed in 2020.

The Pointe

Located at the tip of Palm Jumeirah, this is a 1.4 million square-foot waterfront complex featuring retail units, restaurants and entertainment facilities. Boasting a 1.5km promenade and 1,600 car parking slots, the complex will be ready by the middle of 2017.

Club Vista Mare

This brand new beachfront residential and recreation project with 33 studio apartments will come up on the eastern side of the Palm, adjacent to Tiara residences. Seven waterfront restaurants – specialising in Arabic, Japanese, Ethiopian cuisines etc, and a beach grill outlet – will open this month.

Palm Promenade

The entire Palm Jumeirah trunk is being transformed into a beach, park, retail and café complex. Stretching 1.5km, the aim is to create a pedestrian-friendly area that connects with the Palm West Beach. The project is expected to complete in 2017.

The Boardwalk

Nakheel’s Dh150 million 11km boardwalk is likely to change Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination for walking, shopping and dining when it opens in a few weeks.

Palm West Beach

Coming up on the west side of the trunk, this beach park runs 1.5km and will feature a number of restaurants. The St. Regis Beach Club – with exclusive dining, leisure and fitness venues - is also part of the development. Anticipated completion is 2017. Guests of The St. Regis Dubai – The Palm will enjoy complimentary access to the beach club, while those living in The Palm Tower Residences will get preferential membership deals. Expected completion is in 2018.
