DUBAI: Top apparel and jewellery designers will be offering huge discounts, up to 50 per cent of the original prices, at a special exhibition in Dubai on February 23.
Organised by Numaish, the Numaish Designer Deal show will be held at the Shangrila Hotel from 11am to 8pm.
Manisha Kumar, CEO of WOW Marketing, said the Curated Fashion@Affordable Prices exhibition will be different from the usual Numaish events. “There will be only 20 designers. All of them have been well represented at the Lakme and Amazon Fashion Weeks. Their designs are very wearable and shoppers will get an opportunity to buy their favourite designers at half the price.”
Kumar said prices are from just Dh300, which makes the show “aspirational for everybody to own a brand and look stylish”.
She said among those who will be present are Rajat Tangri, Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti, Chola, Urvashi Joneja, Nupur Kanoi, Ritu Kumar, Gaurang, Verb by Pallavi and Pria Kataria Puri.
She said Numaish has held 20 seasonal shows and one luxury show in Dubai since its inception in 2012. This is in addition to two international editions in Singapore. The idea behind the Numaish concept, she said, was to promote women empowerment and provide an opportunity to talented women designers with limited resources to showcase their designs in a global market.
“Over the years, Numaish has also become renowned for supporting revivalist designers who have ensured that traditional hand-woven textiles are infused with a modern blend to appeal to the younger generation. Their creations are known to have made an impact in the villages of India and Pakistan,” she said. Numaish has also launched the Numaish Talent Hunt which gives emerging designers a platform to showcase their work, she added.
