Colours of India by Atul Panase

Leading Indian artists have come together to celebrate the beauty, diversity and vibrant colours of India in an exhibition titled “Colours of Pride”.

The show features paintings and mixed media works by India-based artists Madan Lal, Prafull Sawant and Rajesh Sawant, and Diyali Sen Bhalla, Beena Samuel, Dr Shaji K. Panicker and Atul Panase, who are based in the UAE. The exhibition is curated by Panase.

The artworks portray the rich and diverse culture of India and its variety of colourful festivals, spices, food and traditional attire. They range from images inspired by Indian mythology and folklore to everyday scenes on the streets; and from a spiritual portrayal of devotees at a temple to soulful abstract mixed-media works.

Jyoti Kalsi is an arts-enthusiast based in Dubai.

“Colours of Pride” will run at the Pullman Deira Creek City Centre hotel until November 29.
