Alserkal Avenue, the vibrant arts and cultural hub in Al Quoz, is hosting Area 01, an event that brings together the city’s creative community to celebrate the festive season. The event, to be held on December 16 and 17, focuses on home-grown talent, featuring a variety of musicians, creative businesses and culinary artists. It includes the popular Urban Market, the chilled-out acoustic and electric sounds of Music on the Avenue, yoga sessions in the morning, craftsmen, designers, artisans and a variety of culinary experiences.
More than 50 handpicked vendors will offer unique items ranging from handmade jewellery to decorative items and hand-crafted furniture. The Good Vibes Market is back with interesting new food concepts offered from food trucks and stands, spread across the Avenue and The Yard.
Musicians and other performers will keep visitors entertained from 3pm onwards with a range of innovative performances. Participants include Satwa 3000, Bedouin Records, The Fridge, Freshly Ground Sounds and The Junction, which is doing South Asian Music. The Flip Side is launching their space in Alserkal Avenue with activities such as an event with Analog Room.
Alserkal will also conduct its Saturday Tour programme on December 17. Starting at 4pm from Nadi Al Quoz the guided tour will take visitors to the exhibitions at the art galleries within the complex, and give them the opportunity to interact with gallerists and artists.
Entry to the event is free and open to all.
