Watch out, soggy sandwich makers of the UAE (you know who you are): Pret is getting ready to take you on. The iconic British sandwich shop is finally opening its first outlet in Dubai as part of a partnership with Emirates Leisure Retail. Yep, that means they will first be opening at the airport — a boon for anyone who can’t face another inflight biriyani. It will be at the new concourse D once it’s ready for business (at the end of the second quarter/start of the third of this year).

“Our airside shop, with its large on-site kitchen, will offer the best of Pret’s menu to passengers as they transit through the terminal, or stay and enjoy our comfortable seating area between flights” said Pret A Manger CEO Clive Schlee, in a statement. “We look forward to hearing what customers think when we open later this year.”

A Wolfgang Puck at the airport

It’s not just Pret a Manger that Emirates Leisure Retail is bringing to concourse D. Travellers can also look forward to a concept called The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck. Stay tuned for details.
