UAE designer Dalia Al Ali, the woman behind the Dee by Dalia label, has been selected to participate at the Fashion Scout London Winter Autumn 2018, to be held during London Fashion Week from February 16 to 20. Al Ali beat six designers to be named the winner in the annual scout, organised jointly by the Dubai Design & Fashion Council (DDFC) and the FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style Dubai (FAD Dubai).
The judging panel included Jazia Al Dhanhani, CEO of DDFC; Shivang Dhruva, Founder of FAD Institute of Luxury, Fashion & Style Dubai; Sass Brown, Founding Dean of Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) and Francois Schweitzer, general manager business development, Chalhoub Group.
Dubai-based Al Ali, who started her label in 2013, was picked because “her collections present classic and comfortable pieces, with a minimalistic approach to colours, and mixed with vintage accessories,” said a statement.
“Dalia has been growing consistently as a designer, and have managed to expand Dee by Dalia’s footprint across the GCC. Showcasing at Fashion Scout London is a great opportunity for her to make a statement on an international stage,” said the DDFC’s Al Dhanhani.
