Abu Dhabi: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has confirmed he will return to Abu Dhabi for the ninth annual Mubadala World Tennis Championship in December.

Tsonga will join the world No. 2, Andy Murray, and the big-serving Canadian Milos Raonic at the season-opening event.

It will be his fifth appearance at the tournament.

Three other as-yet-to-be-announced players will also take part in the exhibition, which will take place at the International Tennis Stadium at Zayed Sports City between December 29 to 31.

“I am really excited to be returning to Abu Dhabi this year,” Tsonga said on Monday. “I know the level of competition will be extremely high from the very first match. The Mubadala trophy is definitely something I have my sights on and it will be a great way to begin the 2017 season. The crowd there always encourages me to play my best tennis and I am looking forward to soaking up the atmosphere and giving the fans what they want.”

In addition to the action, fans will be offered off-court activities in the Tennis Village where they can interact with players via autograph signings and coaching clinics.
