Umm Al Quwain: Skybridge Freight Solutions emerged as the winners of the 8th Invitation Premier T20 League organised by the Umm Al Quwain Cricket Club. In the final they defeated Al Futtaim Honda by 37 runs through a fine half century from Naveed Mohsin.
Batting first, Skybridge posted 205 for five in 20 overs mainly through Mohsin’s 68 runs from 46 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. Al Futtaim could muster only 178 for six despite Arun Alex’s fighting 60 runs.
Skybridge’s Habib Ullah, Waqas Muqbil and Omer Khan took two wickets each to restrict Al Futtiam’s run flow.
The ongoing Bukhatir League has been producing some spectacular individual performances.
Mohammad Qasim produced an amazing all-round performance cracking 94 runs and taking five wickets.
His splendid show resulted in Alubond Tigers recording a huge 128-run victory over One Stop Tourism to enter the semi-finals of the One Stop Tourism 43rd Bukhatir Premier League at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
In another match, a fine four-wicket spell from Naqash Basharat ensured Sharjah Cricket Club recorded a brilliant five-wicket victory over G Force Cricket Academy.
In the United Bank Limited’s (UBL) match against G Force it was a day of the Maqsoods.
Zaheer Maqsood bowled a brilliant six wicket spell while Syed Maqsood hit a century in UBL’s nine wicket win. Zaheer took six wickets for 24 runs to restrict G Force to 127 runs.
Syed hit an unbeaten 100 chasing the score. Three batsmen Bilal Irshad, AA Afzal and Waseem Bari hit half centuries in Mir Cricket Club’s 182-run victory over General Petroleum.
