Dubai: Ocean Fair Sports Club scored an emphatic 115-run win over Multiplex Challengers in the 17th Oasis Chemical Cup being held at Ocean Fair Sports Club ground in DIP area. In the inaugural match of the tournament, Ocean Fair Sports Club defeated Multiplex Challenger by 115 runs.
After winning the toss, skipper Freddy Sidhwa elected to bat first and posted 164 for 8. A brilliant knock by Yaqoob Ritchie of 64 off 20 balls with help of eleven boundaries and three sixes backed by Hasnain Raza (40), Waqas Ahmad (24) helped Ocean Fair team to a respectable total.
Rajee Lal bagged 3 for 24.
Chasing the total, Multiplex Challengers were bowled out for 49 in 13.2 overs. Oasis Chemicals bowlers S, Sherazade (4 for 16) and Waqas Ahmad (3 for 7) demolished the opposition. Basit Ali chipped in with two wickets by giving away just one run to hasten their end. In another match YES Bank defeated Dubai Club.
In the UAE Annual Inter-University Cricket Tournament for MGS Pride Cup organised by Maxtalent Cricket Academy, Skyline University defeated Amity University by 78 runs.
