Dubai. Virendra Rana and AKS Satish whipped the Dubai Rhinos bowling attack to crack unbeaten half centuries and ensure a nine-wicket win for the Dubai Mammoths at the Dubai Cricket Council’s Saturday Silly Sloggers tournament being played at The Sevens ground in Dubai.

Rana also took four wickets to restrict Rhinos to 167 for nine in 30 overs. Rana hit 52 runs off 51 balls with seven fours and retired while Satish’s belligerent knock came off just 29 balls with a six and six fours before retiring. Before the pair joining hands, opener Sangeet Gopinath hit 38 runs.

For Rhinos, Yuvraj Kurup hit 53 came off 42 balls and Qais Farooq too scored 53 runs from 51 balls.

In the semi-final of the 9th Al Dhaid Gold Cup Tournament, Alubond’s Tiger’s skipper Nazir Aziz produced a brilliant allround show to book his team a place in the final of the tournament. Aziz hit 44 runs and bagged three wicket to outplay Multiplex International by 60 runs/.

Alubond Tigers posted 219 for nine in 40 overs with knocks also from CP Rizwan (37) and Samiullah (41). Aziz’s three wicket spell backed by Sultan Ahmad and Asif Mumtaz with two wickets each, bowled out Multiplex for 159.

In Dubai’s ICC Academy HTC Ultra Cup, Renegades teams registered three victories. Renegades comfortably eased past Zalmi and Arenco IT but had to fight hard against OMG before producing a thrilling win. OMG scored 61 to Rengades’ 66. Against Zalmi, Renegades made 82 and restricted Zalmi to 25. Even Arenco was restricted to 45 and Renegades made 80 runs.

In other matches, Mir Club 90 defeated NBF 33. NBF 50 also lost to Abela team 88.
