Dubai: The ICC Academy-run activities are in full swing with their indoor and outdoor tournaments. While the emphasis was on indoor tournaments during the summer months, their outdoor tournament through ICCA Summer Cricket League has also commenced now.

In the opening round matches of the outdoor league at the ICC Academy oval ground, ANIB XI on Top recorded double victories. They defeated Mir CC by three wickets and Mideast Metals by 40 runs. In another match, Brother Gas, riding on a fine century from Adnan Khan (101), trounced Damac Properties by 100 runs.

In the Sprite Summer Cup indoor tournament, DBMSC-A team. made up of their star players who have been selected for the UAE national team, that will play in the oncoming Indoor World Cup, emerged champions in the Gold Division of the event defeating SFS.

In the final, SFS got off to a positive start with M. Asif scoring 13. S. Nadir hit 16 to further consolidate the score but the last two pairs did not contribute much and SFS could muster only 63. In reply, DBMSC started well through their opening pair of Aqib Malik (12) and Sameer Nayak (10) adding 22 runs. The next pair also added a same score with Ramveer Rai coring 10 and Rohan Mustafa hitting 12.

Rai, who had opened for the UAE in outdoor cricket, won the Gold Division man of the match award while S. Fayyaz of SFS won the Player of the Tournament award.
