Dubai: The duFC Schools and Streets Cup in association with La Liga drew to a close with four finals at Dubai Mall’s ice rink on Saturday.

Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol was on hand to present the trophies alongside duFC director and former Real Madrid captain Michel Salgado. Both even featured in an exhibition match that saw Barcelona beat Real 2-0 in an El Clasico-styled friendly.

Go Pro Sports beat Adastra 6-2 in the UAE Girls Challenge and Al 7osani beat Ultimate XI 5-0 in the UAE Streets Cup.

Elsewhere, in the UAE Schools Cup Boys Under-14 final Rashed Bin Saeed School beat British School Khubairat 8-2, and Mawakeb Garhoud beat Al Ma’arifa 5-4 on penalties after drawing 3-3 in normal time, to win the Boys Under-16 final.

Winning Boys U14 and U16 teams have won a trip to Spain to watch Barcelona play, while the UAE Girls Challenge winners will travel to the UK to watch Manchester United.

This brought to a close duFC’s second season, which saw over 7,000 players compete over six months.

The best players will be scouted to play for the du La Liga High Performance Centre, who, thanks to La Liga coaches, are currently top of the UAE FA’s Academy League.
