Dubai: The Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has honoured 56 employees of the Dubai Municipality’s Cleaning Services and Operations Section in recognition of their services towards the successful organisation of sporting events in 2017, especially the DXB 24 Hour Walkathon in November.

The employees, from 16 different branches of the Cleaning Services and Operations Section, were given certificates of appreciation by Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, in the presence of Nasser Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of DSC, and Ali Al Mutawa, Director of DSC’s Corporate Support Department, at a function held on Monday at the DSC office in Dubai Design District.

“The Dubai Sports Council has a strategic partnership with Dubai Municipality, where we work together on many initiatives that serve the city and community,” said Hareb as he felicitated the section heads, supervisors and workers of the Cleaning Services and Operations Section.

“The Cleaning Services section plays a key role in organising competitions by providing comfort and cleanliness for the public and participants, preserving the beauty of the city and providing a civilised face of our society and our city.

“We are really pleased to host these dedicated officials and workers of the Waste Management department at the headquarters of the DSC, and to share a breakfast with them in recognition of their services.”

The list of Dubai Municipality section chiefs and workers honoured included Suhail Al Awadi, head of Dubai Municipality’s Cleaning Services and Operations Section, Mohammad Saif Al Mansouri, Head of Specialised Cleaning Division and Mohammad Kamal Ahmad Mohammad.
