Dubai: The T10 Cricket League’s Bengal Tigers team released their team anthem with the lyrics that they will hit the opposition out for sixes. This team, which will be led Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmad, also unveiled their team jersey through the colourful function held at the Danube Properties building.

With the anthem being played loudly and dancers wearing helmets dancing to the lyrics, the blue and yellow jersey with the logo of a roaring tiger was unveiled by Sarfraz, along with owners Anis Sajan, the managing director of Danube Group and Neelesh Bhatnagar, owner of NB Ventures.

The anthem which begins with “We are Bengal Tigers” in three languages — Bengali, Hindi and English — is followed by the lyrics “We will swing our bats, we will take wickets, we will hit the opposition out for sixes, We are Bengal Tigers.”

In the T10 players draft held on Sunday night, Bengal has picked a strong combination with Sarfraz using his hands on knowledge to good use.

Speaking to Gulf News, Anis Sajan said, “We owe a lot to our captain Sarfraz for guiding us the right way to pick a good team. He sat with us for hours during the last three days, constantly discussing the various combinations that can make a winning team. Sarfraz deserves all the applause for this team combination.”

Commenting on the team, Sarfraz said: “We have got 90 per cent of the players that we planned to have in the team. It is a balanced side and probably the best bowling attacks in the tournament with Sunil Narine and Mustafizur Rahman.”

After a close look at the jersey, Sarfraz said: “I like the colour of the jersey as I feel it represents passion, pride and glory.”

Neelesh Bhatnagar believes his team is well suited for this super fast and super exciting version of cricket which is bound to click with the young generation.

Commenting on choosing Sarfraz as their captain, Anis said: “For over five years I have seen the hunger and passion in Sarfraz for success not only as captain of Pakistan but also as skipper of Quetta Gladiators and I am sure there cannot be a better choice than Sarfraz as skipper for the Bengal team.”
