Sharjah: Asif Khan slammed a brilliant half century as Sharjah Cricket Club got past UBL by just 19 runs in the Sharjah T-20 Bash 2017-18 held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

The tournament is organised by the Sharjah Cricket Club.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sharjah Cricket Club had an early hiccup before Mohammad Sami and Asif Khan revived the innings with a 52-run partnership for the second wicket.

Sami departed scoring an impressive 42 from just 31 overs consisting of six boundaries and a six.

Asif Khan carried on the good work with the company of Kashif Dawood (15) to add another superb 64 runs for the third wicket.

Khan departed after scoring 75 from only 47 balls powered by eight boundaries and three sixes as Sharjah Cricket Club managed 152 for seven in 20 overs.

For UBL, Zaheer Maqsood claimed three wickets while Mujahid Amin picked two.

Chasing a challenging target, UBL got a relatively decent start with opener Babar Hussain scoring a 14-ball 28 including six fours.

Muhammad Boota smashed a 29-ball 34 to further boost the chase before wickets fell in quick succession as UBL were all out for 133 in 20 overs.

For the winners, Owais Sarfraz accounted for three wickets while Moin Sabir picked two.
