Dubai: Al Ebdaa Model School won all three age categories in the Emirati division of the Shuttle Time Dubai Girl’s Schools Championships at the Salah Addin Sports Hall on Saturday.

In the Under-12s Ayah Mohammad beat Shaikha Ahmad of Dubai International School, Latifa Yousuf beat Maha Ali of Princess Haya School to win the Under-14s and Hind Abdullah made it three out of three for Al Ebda by beating Rawda Al Hely of Dubai International School in the Under-16s.

In the expatriate division Indian High School qualified to two finals and will meet Gems Our Own Indian High School in the Under-14s and Gems Our Own English High School in the Under-16s. Gems Our Own English High School will also face Dubai Gem Private School in the Under-12s. The finals will be played at the India Club in Oud Mehta on Wednesday.

Over 125 players from 16 schools competed in the expatriate division and a further 111 girls from 11 schools played off in the Emirati division.

The boys finals will also be contested on Wednesday. Their opening games were played on October 15. Indian High School will meet both Our Own High School Al Warqa’a in the Under-12s and Gems Our Own Indian School in the Under-16s. The Under-14s final will be decided only after Wednesday’s semi-finals.

The competition is part of the Shuttle Time Dubai grassroots development programme which is aimed at increasing local participation to ensure Dubai’s four-year hosting of the World Superseries Finals from 2014-2017 has a legacy.
