Dubai: The final list of top talents from the northern emirates was announced by du Football Champions director Fernando Sanz on Sunday.

These players now move closer to a call-up to the du La Liga High Performance Centre (HPC) and a possible trip to Spain, where they will be observed by top European clubs.

Scout and du La Liga HPC head coach Rafa Gil said: “With the addition of the Under-14 category last year and Under-12s this year, we can now start to scout talents from the age of nine, which means that we can invest in their development for up to nine years, giving them a solid base on which to build their professional football careers.

“We are not only looking for players who have the best technical skills, but also those who have a great passion for football and demonstrate growth potential. In the northern emirates, we have seen some great potential talent and look forward to seeing them again in Dubai in April when we conduct the final scouting trial.”

The du Football Champions Clinic will provide the nation’s 180 best football talents with the finest opportunity to showcase their skills before the final selection of the top Under-18, Under-16, Under-14 and Under-12 players, who will begin their training at the du LaLiga HPC in April. The players in the Under-18 and Under-16 category will travel to Spain in August for a 3-week training clinic and competitive matches against some of La Liga’s strongest youth clubs, where they have the chance of being discovered by scouts from European clubs.

The du Football Champions international youth scouting platform, in partnership with La Liga is the first of its kind in the UAE and hopes to create an ongoing pipeline of pro-football players for both national and international clubs and teams.
