Al Ain: Coach Zoran Mamic was left waiting for a final verdict reportedly during the week from the UAE Football Association (UAE FA) Disciplinary Committee regarding his star playmaker Omar Abdul Rahman.

‘Amoori’ was slapped with a four-match ban by the committee for breaking curfew the night before the UAE’s final against Oman in last month’s Gulf Cup in Kuwait. Since then, the gifted midfield maestro has rarely turned up for The Boss.

On Saturday, he watched from the stands as Al Ain demolished Ajman 7-0 in the 15th round of the Arabian Gulf League (AGL). Mamic went on to laud his midfield comprising of Bandar Al Ahbabi, Ahmad Barman, Rayan Yaslam and Amoori’s older brother Mohammad.

“He does have an injury, but he has also started training with the team,” Mamic related.

“Whether he plays or not is now entirely up to the disciplinary committee that is scheduled to meet this week. But after seeing the show put up by the team today, he will have to wait and fight for his place,” the former Croatian international cautioned.
