Dubai: Dibba Fujairah have signed a one-year contract extension with Moroccan midfielder Driss Fettouhi to complete their foreign quota for the forthcoming season.

All 12 Arabian Gulf League clubs are allowed three foreigners plus one Asian player and Fettouhi, 27, who joined from Qatar’s Al Kharitiyat last October, satisfies Dibba’s Asian allocation by virtue of an Indonesian passport.

The Fishermen have already signed Brazilian forward Jociel Ferreira da Silva from Ittihad Kalba and Malian midfielder Alassane Diallo, from Al Shaab, while also retaining Jordanian winger Yaseen Al Bakhit.

Brazilian striker Bruno Moraes and Brazilian midfielder Wanderley Sousa have both left the club.

Dibba finished 11th in the Arabian Gulf League last season, sacking coach Paulo Sergio in December and replacing him with Brazilian boss Paulo Comelli, who will continue with the club into next season.

Elsewhere, Al Ain have reportedly turned down an approach from French side Nice to loan Emirati playmaker Omar Abdul Rahman.

It is the latest in a long line of enquiries from European clubs to have taken an interest in Omar since he impressed at the London 2012 Olympics, and went on to win Asian Player of the Year in 2016.
