Sharjah: Al Nasr crashed out of the President’s Cup Last 16 losing 5-3 on penalties to Dibba at Sharjah Stadium on Wednesday.

Marcelo Cirino cancelled out Waleed Ahmad’s 11 minute opener with 20 minutes remaining to pull Al Nasr level, but Masoud Sulaiman then missed the Blue Wave’s third kick in the shootout to put Dibba through.

Diego Silva, Edriss Fettouhi, Ahmad Ebrahim, Ali Al Saadi and Yassin Al Bakhit all converted for Dibba, while Marcelo, Khalid Jalal and Mahmoud Khamis netted for Nasr.

Elsewhere, Al Ain beat Al Dhafra 1-0 at Al Jazira’s Stadium courtesy of a 22-minute strike from Marcus Berg, in a game that saw Ahmad Khalil make his debut for Al Ain after joining on a free transfer from Al Jazira earlier this week.

Al Wasl also progressed to the quarter-finals with a 5-2 win over second division Bani Yas.

Caio Correa got an early opener and Hassan Al Muharrami scored an own goal to make it 2-0 Al Wasl after 10 minutes.

Haboush Saleh pulled one back for Bani Yas before the interval, but a second own goal from Ahmad Haboush after the break had Wasl in full control. Fabio Lima got a fourth approaching the last quarter before Hamad Al Ahbabi netted for Bani Yas and Correa completed his brace late on.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be made on January 23.
