Dubai. Maxtalent Cricket Academy will inspire budding cricketers by flying them to the ‘home of cricket’ — Lord’s cricket ground in London, where Australia scored a mammoth 405-run victory over England last week thanks to Steven Smith’s double century.

This is part of the academy’s fourth tour to the United Kingdom, which begins on Tuesday.

Sudhakar Shetty, Maxtalent’s head coach, told Gulf News: “We will not only be visiting Lord’s by taking a day off from our busy tour, but will play matches against England’s Parkside School, Reeds School, Old Whitgiftians Cricket Club, Stoke D’Abernon Cricket Club, Cobham Cricket Club and Star Cricket Academy in a span of nine days.”

The tour squad made up under-13 and under-16 players will attend a masterclass to be conducted at Parkside school by ex-Surrey county star, academy head coach and former Bengal player Sid Lahiri.

“A strong contingent of 25 players will tour the UK. This tour will give the boys the unique experience of handling swing bowling due to the encouraging and different weather conditions,” Shetty added.

Maxtalent previously toured Mumbai last December and Muscat in March, with more tours in the offing.
