Dubai: Ronan Morgan has been appointed as the CEO of World Professional Powerboating Association (WPPA). The former motorsport co-driver is the association’s first CEO and assumed the role in April after being selected by the Board of Directors.

Morgan said in a press release: “I am looking forward to leading the WPPA and its operations and will spare no efforts in offering the powerboating community the experience I have gained over the years in my motorsport career.”

Morgan won 54 FIA international rallies and 10 Middle East championships in his 27-year long career. Following his retirement Morgan was the co-promoter for Rally Ireland and won the bid to host the 2007 World Rally Championship. As Motorsport Director of Automobile and Touring Club (ATCUAE), he was clerk of the course for racing events such as the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix, Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and Dubai International Rallies.
